Georgia High School Shooting Suspect to Appear in Court as Father Faces Second-Degree Murder Charges Georgia High School Shooting Suspect to Appear in Court as Father Faces Second-Degree Murder Charges

King was charged with draft evasion and possession of indecent images of a child, US military officials told the Associated Press (AP).

The officials, whose names were not released for security reasons, said King is being held in custody by the US military and will face a judge in the US after the indictment against him is completed.

The indictment against King alleged that in addition to possessing images of child abuse, the US soldier had previously shared similar images on the social media platform Snapchat.

Travis King incident
The United Nations (UN) Command in South Korea announced on its X social media platform that a US civilian "unauthorized and willingly" crossed the border with North Korea on July 18.

In the details that emerged later, it was noted that 23-year-old Travis King was a soldier and had been sentenced to nearly two months in prison for beating a civilian in a nightclub and kicking a police vehicle in South Korea. It was stated that King was released on July 10 and wanted to be sent back to Fort Bliss Military Base in the US state of Texas for disciplinary action.

It was reported that King, who was returned from the door of the plane at the airport where he was brought by the military, on the grounds that he lost his passport, then left the airport and participated in a tour organized to the de facto border village of Panmunjom, the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea, where tourists were located.

The UN Command in South Korea announced that North Korea had requested information on the whereabouts of the US soldier and that the first response was that King had been detained.

King, who was deported from North Korea, returned to the US on September 28.
