LOWER SALARIES FOR WOMEN!

Activision Blizzard is facing a lawsuit alleging that it discriminates against female employees, including denying them promotion opportunities and paying them lower salaries than male employees. The California state regulator has agreed to pay the game maker nearly $50 million to settle the lawsuit, which was filed in 2021.

The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) sued the "Call of Duty" maker after a two-year investigation into allegations that it routinely underpaid and failed to promote female employees and condoned sexual harassment.

ALLEGATIONS TO BE WITHDRAWN IN SETTLEMENT

CRD will withdraw allegations of systemic sexual harassment under the settlement agreement. Other allegations resolved by the settlement include that Activision discriminated against women, including denying them promotional opportunities and paying them less than men for doing substantially similar work, CRD said in a statement.

As part of the settlement, which is subject to court approval, Activision will take additional steps to ensure fair wage and promotion practices and provide monetary relief to women who were employees or contract workers in California between October 12, 2015 and December 31, 2020, CRD said in a statement.
