Is Anthony Davis Making a Surprise Comeback to Mavericks Lineup on Eastern Road Trip!

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Anthony Davis may make his return to the Mavericks’ lineup during their upcoming Eastern road trip starting Monday. Davis recently practiced with the Mavs’ G League team and was brought back to the NBA club after one session. The four-game trip kicks off with games against the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks, followed by matchups with the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls. Davis, 32, has been dealing with a left adductor strain since February 8, his first game with the Mavericks following a trade for Luka Dončić. While there were discussions about potentially sitting him out for the rest of the season, Davis is eager to get back on the court as Dallas pushes for a playoff spot.

The Mavericks are in a tight race with the Phoenix Suns for the 10th seed in the Western Conference, with both teams tied at 34-37. Dallas is considering Davis’ return a positive sign, especially as they navigate injuries to other big men on the roster. Despite not setting a specific return date, the team is hopeful that Davis will rejoin the active roster within the next week. Davis has been putting up impressive stats this season, averaging 25.7 points, 12 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 2.2 blocks in the 43 games he has played. Meanwhile, Luka Dončić has been excelling with the Lakers, leading to some frustration among Mavericks fans about the trade that brought Davis to Dallas.
