At the New York City Ballet Gala on 8 May, Debbie Harry — the iconic rock star known for her time with Blondie — revealed that she still has all of her outfits from her Blondie days.
As she prepares to turn 80 in July, she is planning to exhibit her collection at some point in the future. She has kept “everything” from her time in the band, for which she was renowned for her punk-inspired style that mixed grunge with glamour. Despite her upcoming milestone birthday, Harry remains unfazed, stating that she doesn’t constantly dwell on the thought of turning 80. She intends to celebrate the occasion with friends and honour her late drummer, Clem Burke. Harry emphasised the wisdom that comes with ageing and the importance of cherishing memories. Although she won’t be throwing a lavish party, she is looking forward to spending her birthday with loved ones and remembering her dear friend Clem Burke.
