Nissan CEO Uchida Makoto said that the growing trend towards electric vehicles (EVs) is "the ultimate solution, there is no going back".
"EV is the ultimate mobility solution. More than one million customers have joined our journey and experienced the joy of a Nissan electric vehicle."
Yokohama-based Nissan said it will fully electrify all new model vehicles on sale in continental Europe by 2030.
Nissan previously announced that it aims to expand its global lineup with 27 new electric models by 2030, including 19 fully electric vehicles.
