According to the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, following an accident in the forest in January, a 33-year-old Austrian man was airlifted by air ambulance to Graz University Hospital in the city of Styria in southeastern Austria with serious head injuries.

The man needed emergency surgery and the doctor allegedly allowed his 13-year-old daughter to participate in the operation.

The newspaper reported that he drilled a hole in the patient's skull with a drill.

While the operation was said to have gone smoothly, the patient is still unable to work and the Graz Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating the entire surgical team.

The newspaper reported that an anonymous complaint about the allegations was only made to the public prosecutor's office in April.

It then took until July for the victim to be informed by the police.

The surgeon and a specialized employee who were present during the operation reportedly left the hospital.

'You are becoming guinea pigs'

The alleged victim first learned about the incident from the media but was later told by the authorities that he was a witness in the investigation.

The victim's lawyer Peter Freiberger said, “You lie there. You are unwilling, unconscious and a guinea pig. There's probably no other way to say it... it's not possible. You can't do that,” he said.
