Yellowstone’s latest season, 5B, may have come to a close, but fans can take heart knowing that the Dutton family saga is set to continue in a new spinoff series. Deadline reports that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are confirmed to reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler in the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff.
Prior to the announcement of the spinoff series, Good Housekeeping had the opportunity to chat with Kelly Reilly about her recent career milestone, a brand partnership with Ammunition Wines and Whiskey. Reflecting on her time filming alongside Cole Hauser and the rest of the cast, Reilly shared insights into how she maintains a sense of home while on the road.
When asked about any special items she brings to set to evoke feelings of home, Reilly explained that while she doesn’t carry physical mementos, she values the presence of familiar and meaningful objects in her personal space. “When I go home from set, I’ve got my favorite books around me, I’ve got a candle that I love, I’ve got a blanket that I carry with me everywhere,” she shared.
The actress, who identifies as a Cancerian, expressed her attachment to the concept of home, stating, “I literally travel with my home on my back. Home is everything to me… I am always on the road. I’m always making homes in different places.” Reilly detailed a storage unit she maintains across various filming locations in America, containing items like glasses, cutlery, plates, and blankets that provide her with a sense of comfort and familiarity.
While emphasizing the importance of personal connections, Reilly remarked, “It’s about the people, isn’t it? You surround yourself with people that make you feel like you’re home. And I am lucky enough to have found a few of those people when I go to work.”
Yellowstone, which commenced production in 2017 and premiered in June 2018, has captivated audiences with its portrayal of the American West and the characters that inhabit it. Kelly Reilly’s portrayal of Beth Dutton has been central to the show’s success, prompting questions about whether aspects of Beth’s style have influenced Reilly’s own fashion choices.
In response, Reilly differentiated herself from her on-screen persona, noting, “I’m not the antithesis [of Beth], but I certainly think for me, it’s more about a feeling than accessorizing.” She elaborated on the allure of the American West, describing it as a region steeped in history and marked by its rugged beauty and spirit of resilience.
Acknowledging her London roots, Reilly shared her admiration for the West’s romance, danger, and grandeur. “There’s something about the romance of the West, the danger of the West, the beauty and magnificence of this part of America. As someone from South London, it truly takes my breath away,” she expressed.
