Authorities in Houston are on the lookout for a man who has been charged with reportedly posing as a nurse and providing care to disabled individuals while employed by two nursing agencies. Dazael Gloria, 33, faces charges of practicing nursing using a fake license, as per court documents. The Houston Police claim that Gloria unlawfully practiced nursing without a valid license on multiple occasions in October 2024. Additionally, he is accused of presenting himself as a licensed nurse in Harris County, Texas, from August 2022 to October 2023. Court records reveal that Gloria allegedly used a relative’s identity to secure employment with two nursing agencies in Harris County. The incidents were brought to light by an investigator working with the Texas Board of Nursing. Documents provided to the police by the investigator indicated that Gloria’s nursing license had been terminated on February 14, 2020. At one of the nursing agencies, Gloria applied for a job under the relative’s name, completed orientation, and carried out duties that included caring for a disabled adult with significant needs. During his shift with the patient, Gloria allegedly left the patient unattended, claiming he was assaulted while outside the patient’s residence. Staff members later identified Gloria as the individual using the nursing license. After leaving this agency, he proceeded to work for another agency using the same false identity. Gloria’s responsibilities at the second agency reportedly included providing care to disabled patients of different ages. The court records do not mention whether the relative was aware of Gloria using their identity. A warrant has been issued for Gloria’s arrest in connection with these allegations.
