American Airlines Jet Engine Issue Sparks FAA Probe!

American Airlines planes were observed at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on June 25, 2025. An American Airlines jet had to return to Las Vegas after experiencing an engine issue on Wednesday. The flight, American flight 1665, was operating on an Airbus A321 and was en route to Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 8:20 a.m. local time when it had to turn back to Harry Reid International Airport, as per the Federal Aviation Administration’s initial report. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, according to Like Nimmo, a spokesperson for the airport, who spoke to CNN.

The flight reported seeing “smoke coming from the left engine,” Nimmo mentioned. Following a safe landing, the fire department inspected the engine, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the gate under its own power. American Airlines confirmed that there were 153 passengers and six crew members on board, contradicting an earlier report of 165 passengers by the airport to CNN. The airline stated, “The aircraft taxied to the gate under its own power and customers deplaned normally.” They also expressed appreciation for the professionalism of the crew and the efforts of their team in ensuring passengers reach their destinations promptly.

American Airlines stated that their maintenance team found no indications of a fire in the engine. The aircraft is now out of service for evaluation, as per the airline. The FAA is conducting an investigation into the incident. This remains a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
