King Charles will visit the town of Southport today. The King has pledged his support for the community shaken by the murder of three young girls last month and the riots that followed. The King will meet privately with those affected by the tragic events of July. In particular, these meetings will be with surviving children and their families. It is reported that children injured in the attack will also attend the meeting with the King.

King Charles has previously expressed his shock and sadness at the events and has expressed a desire to visit those affected. However, he waited for the pressure on emergency services in the region to ease. The 75-year-old King, who is being treated for cancer, will fly to Southport for this visit from Scotland where he spends the summer months.
