Suspected Arson Attack Targets New Mexico Republican HQ

Officials from the New Mexico Republican Party have reported a suspected arson attack on their headquarters. The incident occurred at around 5:56 a.m. on Sunday, prompting the dispatch of Albuquerque Fire Rescue to the scene. The fire was quickly brought under control, with no reported injuries.

The building sustained damage to the front entryway and smoke damage throughout. Additionally, the words “ICE=KKK” were found spray-painted on the premises. Investigative teams recovered incendiary materials, though the investigation remains ongoing.

The Republican Party of New Mexico has condemned the attack as a deliberate act of arson, describing it as an assault on their values and freedom of expression. Party officials emphasized the need to hold those responsible for such violence to account.

In response to the incident, the Democratic Party of New Mexico also condemned the vandalism and stressed the importance of peaceful discourse in political disagreements. Representatives from both parties echoed calls for accountability and a commitment to upholding democracy.

Despite the attempted attack, the State Republican Party of New Mexico expressed gratitude to first responders and law enforcement for their swift action in preventing further damage. Party officials reaffirmed their determination to continue advocating for the state and the nation.
