During their second meeting in less than a month, South Korea’s industry minister, Ahn Duk-geun, urged U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick for favorable treatment on tariffs, the ministry disclosed on Saturday. The aim is to mitigate the impact of U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies. Both officials reconvened on Friday, following their initial meeting in late February. Ahn emphasized the importance of the U.S. providing favorable terms for South Korea in its tariff strategies, particularly those slated for announcement on April 2. Given the close economic ties between the two nations, they agreed to maintain dialogue on key issues, including tariff policies, according to the ministry.
