Shocking Arrest in Pub Toilet Attack!

A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an incident where a woman was attacked in a pub toilet in a seaside town. The assault occurred at Chop House Rock Bar in Southport between 00:00 and 02:00 GMT on 27 December, according to a statement from Merseyside Police.

The 44-year-old suspect, hailing from Carlisle, is currently in police custody undergoing questioning as detectives work to gather more information regarding the case. Authorities are urging individuals who may have any relevant details to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

Detective Inspector Carla Cross emphasized the importance of supporting the victim, noting the lasting impact that such crimes can have on those affected. “We know the impact of such offences can be long-lasting on victims,” she stated.

Furthermore, Detective Inspector Cross encouraged anyone who was present at Chop House Rock Bar on Scarisbrick Avenue or in the vicinity during the early hours of that Friday to carefully consider if they observed anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.
