Putin, who arrived in Beijing this morning to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum in China, will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping after his speech at the forum tomorrow.

The Russian leader is visiting China for the first time since the start of the Russia-Ukraine War, which is now in its 600th day.

The visit is expected to reinforce the rapprochement between the two countries, described as "comprehensive strategic partnership coordination" at a time of heightened international and regional tensions.

Putin is expected to discuss the "Belt and Road" cooperation and economic relations between the two countries, as well as the Russia-Ukraine War and the escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine in the Middle East.

RUSSİA-CHİNA RELATİONS

In its geostrategic competition with the United States, China sees it as critical to maintain and develop its strategic partnership with Russia.

The Chinese leader made his first foreign visit to Russia after being re-elected president at the National People's Congress in March, extending his rule to a third term.

"Right now, the world is going through a once-in-a-century change, and we are leading this change," Xi said during the visit, addressing Putin.
