Prominent Figure Chosen to Lead Significant Sports Decision

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Baylor’s esteemed athletic director, Mack Rhoades, has been appointed to spearhead the pivotal College Football Playoff selection committee in the upcoming season. Joining the 13-member committee are new additions including the distinguished former Michigan State and Cincinnati coach, Mark Dantonio, Maryland’s accomplished AD Damon Evans, Chris Massaro from Middle Tennessee State, Wesley Walls, a former standout Mississippi tight end, as well as esteemed sports writers Ivan Maisel and Steve Wieberg.

The committee holds the crucial responsibility of ranking the teams to determine the composition of the 12-team postseason bracket that made its debut last season. The specifics of potential alterations to the system for the year 2025 are yet to be finalized.

The commissioners representing the SEC and Big Ten are advocating for revisions to the system to ensure that conference champions do not automatically receive first-round byes. However, any modifications for the forthcoming season necessitate a unanimous vote from the 11 conference commissioners and the AD from Notre Dame who collectively oversee the playoff system.
