I adore cats, but let’s face it—they can be quite mysterious. One moment, my cats are calm and sweet, and in the next moment, they are acting completely wild and crazy. While some of their behavior can be explained as just having a burst of energy (aka the zoomies), I have a sneaking suspicion that they might be up to even more bizarre antics behind my back. To be fair, my cats have not yet done anything as peculiar as what I recently witnessed. Picture this: one night, I woke up to find my cats putting on a makeshift “puppet show” in the living room. It was a sight that left me speechless. I can’t decide if I should be entertained, enchanted, or downright horrified… I think I felt a mix of all three. On one hand, it was amusing to see the cat with a “puppet head” using the coffee table and cat wheel as a stage, while the other cats watched like an audience. It was like a scene from a bizarre play. On the other hand, one cat had torn apart a stuffed animal and was wearing its face like a mask, which felt eerily reminiscent of a horror movie villain. Quite the wake-up call at 3 am!The video of this strange event went viral on TikTok, with many initially mistaking the cat puppeteer for a possessed doll. People found humor in the chaos and the sight of stuffing scattered around, likening it to a wild party aftermath. For cat owners, this scene wasn’t entirely out of the ordinary—it’s just another day in the life with these quirky creatures.”It’s always the orange and tuxedo cats,” joked one TikTok user.”Living with a cat involves questions you just don’t ask,” remarked another.Wondering why cats go crazy at night? While your cat might not have staged a late-night puppet show in your home, chances are they’ve displayed some nighttime antics. It’s a cat’s nature to be more active in the evenings and early mornings. If your cat has been napping all day, they’re likely bursting with energy by nighttime. This behavior, known as “the night crazies,” is normal. While you can’t change your cat’s nature, engaging them in play before bedtime or keeping them active during the day might help calm their late-night energy bursts. However, can these measures prevent your cats from staging their own puppet show with stuffed animals in the dead of night? I can’t make any guarantees on that front…
