A woman, Danette Colbert, has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the tragic death of Telemundo sports reporter Adan Manzano. Manzano, 27, passed away while covering the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 5. Colbert has also been charged with fraud and theft for allegedly using Manzano’s credit card and leaving his hotel alone on the night of his death. Manzano had Xanax in his system, although it is unclear how he ingested the drug as it was not prescribed to him. Colbert, known for fraud schemes, had previous accusations of drugging and stealing from men in various areas. Manzano, a rising star in sports reporting, was in his third year covering the Kansas City Chiefs for Telemundo KC and Tico Sports. He was described as an exceptional professional and talent by his employer. Manzano’s wife had tragically passed away in a car accident the previous year. The authorities are investigating this tragic event, and the news station is cooperating with them.
