Josh and Jace Jung Face Off in Emotional Mother’s Day Matchup with Mom Watching!

Mary Jung had a truly memorable Mother’s Day as she watched her two sons face off against each other and throw the first pitch at Comerica Park. Dressed in a unique half-and-half Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers jersey, Mary proudly delivered the game ball in front of her sons, Josh and Jace Jung. The boys’ father, Jeff, also sported a custom jersey for the special occasion.

Expressing her overwhelming joy, Mary shared in an interview that she couldn’t have asked for a better Mother’s Day gift. Witnessing her sons live their dreams and excel in their passion filled her heart with pride. Josh, the elder brother, has faced various injuries during his four seasons with the Rangers, while Jace, the younger brother, recently debuted with the Tigers after starting the season in Triple-A.

The rare occasion of both brothers competing on the same field made it the seventh instance in 45 years where siblings played against each other in an MLB game on Mother’s Day. Mary’s excitement was palpable as she had secretly hoped for this matchup without wanting to jinx it. To top off the day, Josh hit a two-run home run, leading the Rangers to a 6-1 victory.

Reflecting on the significance of the day, Josh and Jace shared their thoughts on the emotional and special moment for their family. Despite the competitive spirit on the field, the brothers acknowledged the deep bond they shared and the hard work that brought them to the major leagues. Mary’s heartwarming experience watching her sons play on Mother’s Day is sure to be a cherished memory for years to come.
