J. J. Spaun made headlines with his thrilling victory in the U.S. Open last Sunday, while several LIV Golf competitors achieved impressive top-10 finishes in the tournament.
One standout was Tyrrell Hatton, who finished tied for fourth place despite being disappointed with his performance after closing with consecutive bogeys. He finished the event at 3 over par, the same score as his playing partner and fellow LIV player, Carlos Ortiz.
Meanwhile, Jon Rahm of Spain briefly took the lead after sinking three birdies in the final holes, tying the day’s best round at 67. He finished at 4 over alongside Rory McIlroy. Rahm ended up tied for seventh place with Sam Burns and Scottie Scheffler, the latter of whom had held the 54-hole lead.

Despite a strong showing from the LIV Golf contingent, many of its participants missed the cut at Oakmont. These included Joaquin Niemann, Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson, the latter of whom won the U.S. Open at Oakmont in 2016.
Other players from the LIV circuit who missed the cut included Phil Mickelson, Cameron Smith, Jinichiro Kozuma, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Joaquin Niemann, Josele Ballester and Richard Bland.
