After years of anticipation, Cyberpunk 2077 was finally released in 2020. Set in a dark future, the open-world RPG genre game failed to live up to expectations at first due to its shortcomings. However, it was able to win back the hearts of the players with the updates. So much so that it managed to sell 25 million copies in three years. In addition, the recently released Phantom Liberty add-on reached 3 million sales in its first week.

Today, there was a development that will delight the fans of the game. Developer CD Projekt announced that a live-action project inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 is coming.

The genre of the production that will expand the Cyberpunk universe has not been announced. However, rumors and the fact that the names who will work on the project are from television departments strengthen the possibility of a series. The gaming giant stated that it has partnered with the media company Anonymous Content for the project. This company has previously worked on popular series such as True Detective and Mr. Robot, as well as successful Oscar-winning films such as The Revenant and Spotlight.

CD Projekt says the production is currently in its early stages. Details such as where it will be released, plot, title and cast are not yet known. The company is also looking for someone to write the script.
