Child Poisoning Risk 2300 Benadryl Bottles Recalled!

Recall Notice for Benadryl
Thousands of bottles of Benadryl have been recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission due to the risk of “child poisoning.” The recall pertains to Benadryl Liquid Elixir in 100 mL bottles with X003VRIGUL on the label. The Commission cited that the packaging did not meet the child-resistant packaging requirements under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, thus posing a risk of poisoning if ingested by young children.

Kenvue, the parent company of Benadryl, emphasized their commitment to product quality and safety. They stated that the recalled lot of Benadryl Liquid Elixir was not authorized for sale in the United States and is investigating the matter. The recalled product, manufactured in Canada for Canadian consumers, may have been improperly sold in the U.S. through an unauthorized online seller, possibly on Amazon. Consumers who have purchased this specific lot of Benadryl are urged to follow the recall instructions on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

It is important to note that this recall pertains only to the specific lot of Benadryl Liquid Elixir and does not affect other Benadryl products in the U.S. or Canada. Benadryl is safe when used according to the label instructions.

Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl, is a first-generation antihistamine used to treat various conditions. However, an overdose can lead to serious toxicity, including symptoms like cardiac arrhythmias, muscle breakdown, delirium, hallucinations, and seizures. Overdosing on diphenhydramine can be fatal, causing severe heart rhythm disturbances and other complications.

Parents are advised to store medications safely to prevent accidental ingestion by children. The recall affects about 2,300 bottles of Benadryl purchased on Amazon. While the issue is related to the packaging rather than the product itself, consumers are urged to dispose of the recalled bottles as a precaution.

The article states that the recalled Benadryl products were priced at $16 to $19 and customers can receive a refund from the distributor. To initiate the process, consumers need to provide their Amazon order number and a photo showing the disposal of the recalled Benadryl to recall@arsellsupport.com.
