Chart-Topping Spanish Albums Rewrite History!

For the first time in nearly 70 years of Billboard’s albums chart history, two Spanish-language albums are leading the way: Bad Bunny’s tribute to Puerto Rico, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” and the Mexican-American group Fuerza Regida’s “111xpantia.”

“Debí Tirar Más Fotos” has claimed the top spot in the United States, rising from No. 7 after its initial release on vinyl. This marks the album’s fourth week at No. 1, having spent three consecutive weeks at the peak since January 25. The 17-track collection has returned with 84,500 equivalent album units, with over half of those units coming from vinyl sales, as reported by Luminate.

In a historic moment for Latin music, Fuerza Regida has achieved its highest-charting album to date, debuting at No. 2 with “111xpantia.” Originally containing 12 songs, the album was later expanded to 15 with a deluxe edition released just three days after its debut on May 2. It garnered a total of 76,000 units, including 39,000 album sales and 50 million streams. With 39,000 copies sold, “111” surpasses the previous record for regional Mexican album sales, set by Selena’s “Amor Prohibido” in 1995.

Notably, “111” is the highest-charting Spanish-language album by a duo or group and the top regional Mexican music album on the charts, surpassing the record held by Peso Pluma’s “Génesis” since 2023, according to Billboard.

Before “111,” the band, led by Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP) along with José “Pelón” García, Moisés López, Khrystian Ramos, and Samuel Jáimez, achieved their biggest debut on the Billboard 200 in 2023 with “Pa Las Baby’s y Belikeada.”

The second new entry in the Top 10 this week is rapper Key Glock’s “Glockaveli,” debuting at No. 8 with 34,000 units. This 18-track album was also expanded with a deluxe edition featuring three additional tracks.

Elsewhere in the top rankings, SZA’s “SOS” moves to No. 3, Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” sits at No. 4, Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” is at No. 5, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet” at No. 6, PartyNextDoor and Drake’s “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” at No. 7, and Wallen achieves his second simultaneous Top 10 album with “Dangerous: The Double Album” at No. 9.
