Serial Rapist Arrested Following Brutal Attack
Robert Green, a 30-year-old man, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of multiple offenses, including rape, at Newcastle Crown Court. Green, described as a “dangerous” and violent offender by Judge Gavin Doig, must also serve an additional four years on extended licence upon his release and register as a sex offender for life.
The court heard that Green’s crimes were brought to light when a teenage girl he assaulted sought medical help at a Tyneside hospital, where a nurse raised concerns. Despite denying the charges, Green was found guilty by a jury.
In a statement presented in court, the victim expressed ongoing fear of Green and a general distrust of men due to his actions. Det Con Kayleigh Falcus of Northumbria Police emphasized the “lifelong impact” Green had on his victim and praised the nurse for intervening.
Green, who had a history of violent offenses and had never held a job, was deemed a high risk to society by the judge. Detective Falcus warned the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.
