According to CNN, Biden answered reporters' questions after meeting with Xi at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in San Francisco.
Stating that he "still sees Xi as a dictator," Biden said, "Look, he is a dictator in the sense that he is the man who runs a communist country based on a completely different government than ours."
Biden said that they are still making progress in their talks with Xi.
The US and China agreed yesterday to re-establish military dialogue, which was interrupted in 2022 following the visit of then Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.
