Arson Investigation in Northern Ireland’s Capital City

A 31-year-old man has been apprehended following the ignition of a vehicle in Londonderry on Saturday evening. The episode unfolded in the vicinity of Great James Street at approximately 23:20 GMT. Evidently, a window of the said vehicle had been shattered, and an accelerant was recklessly introduced inside, leading to considerable destruction. Sgt Pritchard has disclosed that the rampage extended to two other vehicles within the neighborhood. Another car parked on Princess Street bore the brunt of a broken window while a campervan situated on Clarendon Street also suffered damage when its window was shattered and a failed attempt was made to set it ablaze. The individual in question was taken into custody under suspicion of several transgressions, inclusive of two instances of arson, criminal harm, attempted criminal harm, and the possession of Class B substances with an intent to distribute. He is presently being detained by law enforcement authorities.
