In the statement, it was determined that the criminal organization, which has been active in Europe in recent years, produced the largest counterfeit coins in Fuenlabrada, Madrid in 2019 and in Barcelona in 2021.
According to the information provided, 80 cents was spent on the material used to mint each 2 euro counterfeit coin.
The operation of the Spanish National Police was also supported by the local police of Catalonia and the European Police Organization.
