Zelenskiy Urges Allies to Fulfill Arms Promises!

KYIV (Reuters) – Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged allies on Sunday to honor all commitments to provide Ukraine with weaponry, particularly to counter Russian air assaults.

Zelenskiy highlighted that in the previous week, Russian forces had conducted numerous attacks on Ukraine, using close to 700 aerial bombs and over 600 attack drones. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 60 out of 94 drones launched by Russia overnight, the air force confirmed on Sunday. Of the remaining 34 drones, it was reported that they were “lost,” indicating Ukraine’s utilization of electronic warfare to disrupt Russian drone operations.

In a statement via the Telegram messaging app, Zelenskiy emphasized, “The ongoing Russian aggression is sustained by their ability to instill fear in Ukraine and exploit their air superiority.” He called upon Ukraine’s allies to promptly fulfill existing agreements.

Zelenskiy specifically referenced the outcomes of the NATO summit in Washington and the Ramstein talks concentrating on enhancing Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. Despite these agreements, he noted that the full implementation of these measures had not yet been achieved.

Earlier this week, Ukraine’s leader revealed discussions with partner nations and the United States regarding the potential issuance of licenses to Ukraine for the production of air defense systems and missiles.
