During Monday Night RAW at Forest National on March 17 in Brussels, WWE Superstar John Cena shared his experience with a past skin cancer diagnosis to highlight the importance of wearing sunscreen.
Cena revealed that despite growing up in Massachusetts during the 1970s and ’80s, he had never been in the habit of using sunscreen. Even after moving to sunny Florida and developing a fondness for the sun, he continued to neglect protecting his skin. However, a routine visit to the dermatologist changed his perspective.
After a cancerous spot was discovered on his right pec during a check-up, Cena realized the consequences of his carelessness. Despite having the spot removed, another cancerous spot near his right shoulder surfaced a year later. These experiences prompted Cena to become more vigilant about sun protection, leading him to collaborate with Neutrogena and promote the importance of sunscreen.
Cena emphasized the significance of daily sunscreen application with a high SPF, comparing it to the routine of brushing one’s teeth. He stressed that skin protection is not only about appearances but also about maintaining health and ensuring longevity.
Now, Cena prioritizes self-care by safeguarding his skin from harmful UV rays, acknowledging the importance of consistent protection.
