Woman’s Harrowing Encounter with Three Dogs Leads to Serious Injuries!

A 69-year-old woman in the Highlands was seriously injured after being attacked by three dogs in Invershin. Emergency services were called to the incident, and the woman was flown to the hospital. A 76-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack. Two of the dogs involved were registered and legally-owned XL Bullies. The incident occurred near the small community of Invershin, north of Bonar Bridge. XL Bully dogs have been restricted in Scotland since 2024. They are described as large dogs with a muscular body and blocky head. The UK government has provided guidance to help identify XL bullies, which are not a specific breed. Restrictions on owning XL bullies were implemented in Scotland in February 2024. The move followed a series of attacks involving the breed. The UK government cited the breed’s disproportionate involvement in recorded deaths since 2021 as a reason for the ban in England and Wales.
