Where is Brewers’ Hitting Coach Al LeBoeuf Now!

Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach Al LeBoeuf is currently away from the team recovering from prostate surgery. The operation took place on Monday, and it is expected that LeBoeuf will rejoin the team in due course, although no specific timeline has been provided. This marks his first season coaching in the majors after working as a hitting coach in Triple-A for the past six seasons. Brewers manager Pat Murphy praised LeBoeuf, describing him as a beloved figure with a deep passion for the game. Despite his absence, the team will not be bringing up a replacement from the minors, as they already have three hitting coaches on staff, including LeBoeuf, Connor Dawson, and Eric Theisen.

LeBoeuf, who is 65 years old and has been with the Brewers organization for 16 seasons, has formed strong bonds with many of the Brewers’ hitters as they progressed through the minor leagues. Outfielder Sal Frelick highlighted LeBoeuf’s invaluable presence during batting practice, emphasizing his wealth of knowledge and the positive impact he has on the team. Following a successful surgery, the team is relieved and optimistic about LeBoeuf’s recovery. LeBoeuf previously battled blood cancer in his right hip, a condition attributed to a previous injury sustained during his playing days in 1985.
