Waymond Lee, Star of Comedy Central’s ‘Workaholics,’ Passes Away at 72!

Waymond Lee, renowned for his role in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics,” has passed away at the age of 72. The news was initially reported by TMZ and confirmation of his death was provided by his wife, Diane Lee, and his sister, Norine Lee. Lee succumbed to ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, on December 18 after a prolonged battle with the nervous system disorder that deteriorates the body’s nerves, resulting in muscle weakness.

Primarily recognized for his portrayal of Waymond in 44 episodes of the Emmy-nominated comedy series “Workaholics,” Waymond Lee portrayed an unassuming co-worker alongside the show’s main trio of eccentric roommates. The workplace sitcom aired for 86 episodes from 2011 to 2017, featuring three laid-back individuals living in Southern California, played by Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, and Anders Holm, collectively known as the “Workaholics.”

Waymond Lee was initially diagnosed with a brain condition in October, but subsequent testing in the prior month revealed that he was battling ALS. Described by his family as a “sentimental person” with a gentle demeanor, Lee was never one to openly voice grievances about working extensive hours.

In addition to his significant role on “Workaholics,” Waymond Lee made uncredited appearances in various film and television projects, including “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Bullet Train,” “The Cleaning Lady,” “Superstore,” “The Laundromat,” “American Bistro,” “The House,” “Other People,” “Shameless,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Dexter,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Iron Man 2,” “Angels & Demons,” and “Bones,” where he portrayed Senator Yinui in “Veep.”

Waymond Lee is survived by his wife, Diane Lee, and his sister, Norine Lee.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Waymond Lee during this difficult time.
