“The northern United States prepares for a powerful snowstorm with icy conditions. Regions in the Upper Midwest, upstate New York, and northern New England are bracing for heavy snowfall and significant ice through the middle of the week, according to AccuWeather meteorologists.
Following a weekend of harsh winter weather, some areas saw thick ice accumulation, with Marquette, Michigan receiving nearly 20 inches of snow. Northern parts of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine also experienced snowfall, while northern Minnesota and Wisconsin saw snow and pockets of ice. AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski noted the rarity of such a late-March ice storm and the unusual occurrence of a second storm following so closely. While the upcoming storm is expected to be shorter in duration, it may still cause damage to trees weakened by the previous storm, potentially leading to power outages.”
