Interestingly, the demand for mid-century modern pieces is declining, with only seven percent of designers expressing interest in them in 2025. On the other hand, there is a rising preference for Art Deco and Bauhaus aesthetics from the 1920s and 1930s, with bespoke furniture and lighting from these periods topping designers’ shopping lists.
Based on the insights from the 1stDibs survey and commerce report, several vintage pieces stand out as highly coveted by designers. While classics like the Eames Lounge Chair and Noguchi Akari Lamp remain popular, lesser-known gems are also gaining attention. Notable mentions include the Vladimir Kagan Serpentine Sofa, Kaare Klint Safari Chair, Murano glass pendants and chandeliers, and Art Deco chairs, all of which are highly sought after for their unique designs and historical significance.
