The Minnesota Vikings secured a contract with cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. on Monday, finalizing a productive day for the team. Although the club confirmed the agreement, specific terms of Murphy’s deal were not disclosed. Reports indicate that the two parties settled on a three-year, $66 million contract. Additionally, former Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly agreed to a two-year, $18 million contract with the Vikings on the same day. Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers also reportedly joined Minnesota on a two-year, $15 million deal, with $8 million guaranteed.
All contracts are expected to be finalized on Wednesday, the start of the 2025 league year. Murphy, 27, had an impressive performance as the Vikings’ top cornerback last season, recording 81 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, and six interceptions. Kelly, 31, is a four-time Pro Bowl selection and previously played with the Colts before his move to Minnesota. Rodgers, 27, contributed significantly during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and is now set to bolster the Vikings’ defense.
These acquisitions mark an exciting start to the upcoming season for the Minnesota Vikings, as they build a strong roster with experienced talent.
