Wombats are incredibly cute little creatures. They are almost like little furry little piggies. If you look at one waddle around for a few minutes, we guarantee that you will experience cuteness overload and fall in love with them.
One particularly cute wombat is an orphan named Wanda. Thankfully for Wanda, there is a kind doctor who visits her each day to give her belly rubs and scratches. One only has to look at Wanda’s face to know that when she is getting belly rubs, she is living her best life.
What an adorable wombat! Wanda is just too precious. Just look at that face of hers. It’s so cute! And look at her little body, too, enter little arms! What an adorable creature. Every day should be wombat day, plain and simple.
After seeing this video, we have decided that we need to go to Australia to have some more Wanda in our lives. She’s just that darn cute. The Internet was completely obsessed with Wanda. Many people in the comments section reported that they were experiencing cuteness overload after watching this video.
Among the people in the comments section who were completely smitten with Wanda was Instagram user ludtke_amber_25, who thought that Wanda was so adorable they wanted to give her all the best kisses when they wrote, “Is it dangerous to kiss them? How do you resist giving smoochies?”
A few other people in the comments section were wondering something similar. Thankfully, Instagram user ladybellacrowns was able to provide an answer when they wrote, “Aussie here. Baby wombats are ok to snuggle if in care; they love affection!”
You may not know this, but wombats have some pretty tough butts. They are made up of four plates fused together and surrounded by cartilage and fat. Wombats use their bums for excavating as well as for defense.
In fact, a wombat’s bum is its greatest defense asset from both predators and other wombats. It is not uncommon for dingo and fox skulls to be spotted outside of wombat burrows. Because of this, scientists believe that these creatures use their large, powerful hind ends to crush predators attempting to come into their dens.
Given this, it is not surprising to learn that young wombats learn how to use their bums at an early age. That means that they learn how to follow their behind as they throw it around. Just imagine watching a tiny wombat get a case of the zoomies where they are constantly sticking out their butt and backing into things. How cute would that be?
We doubt that Wanda the wombat will attempt to smash the good doctor with her butt anytime soon. If she did that, he might stop giving her good belly rubs and scratches, which she clearly enjoys very much.
