Vermont Accused of Secretly Tracking Pregnant Women as Unfit Mothers!

“What the Department for Children and Families (DCF) has done in this case is undeniably harsh,” stated Ijaz. “It is discriminatory, involving state-endorsed surveillance and stalking that infringes upon Vermont’s recently established right to reproductive autonomy as enshrined in its state constitution. This presents an opportunity for Vermont to lead by example and demonstrate to other states that these rights are not merely theoretical but are also upheld in practicality.”

Stark expressed deep concern over the allegations in Vermont, given the state’s portrayal of itself as a sanctuary for reproductive rights. “The revelation of a state agency collaborating with specific medical professionals to gather information without individuals’ awareness or consent, and overstepping its legal boundaries to investigate individuals based on their personal reproductive health choices, is extremely disconcerting,” he emphasized.

The lawsuit accuses Vermont of monitoring pregnant women deemed unsuitable to be mothers. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
