Blue Jays manager John Schneider informed the media on Saturday that Varsho requires more time to recuperate from right rotator cuff surgery performed in September. While Varsho has seen action as a designated hitter this spring, boasting a .276 batting average with four home runs, the team aims to have him ready to play in the outfield. Schneider, speaking to reporters from MLB.com and Sportsnet, anticipates Varsho will make his season debut within the first month. The 28-year-old Varsho, entering his third season with the Blue Jays after three years with Arizona, posted a .214 average with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs in 136 games last season.
