Police have reported that Jamie Cooper, aged 33, fled from a prison van on the M55 near Preston. He was later found by authorities in Blackburn, Lancashire as a passenger in a car that had traveled from Bolton. Cooper, originally from Blackpool, was arrested on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody. The incident occurred as he was being transported to Lancaster Magistrates’ Court in a GEOAmey van. He had been facing charges for assaulting a police officer and criminal damage. Following his escape, a widespread search was conducted which led to his arrest in Blackburn. Lancashire Police expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance in the matter.
