"A US military aircraft crashed into the Mediterranean Sea during a routine aerial refueling mission as part of military training. All 5 military personnel on board were killed."

Investigation continues

Search and rescue operations were launched immediately after the incident with the involvement of nearby US military aircraft and ships, the statement said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

The cause is being investigated

In a statement released by EUCOM yesterday, it was reported that the military aircraft crashed, saying, "The cause of this training incident is under investigation. But we can say with certainty that the aircraft sorties were purely training-related and there was no sign of any hostile action."
Following the start of Israel's attacks on Gaza, the US military has deployed intensive deployments to the Mediterranean, including two aircraft carriers, and started drills in the region.
