Jacob Ewing, a man from the US, was arrested at Cardiff Airport for traveling to Wales to meet a 15-year-old girl he had groomed online. He was sentenced to over seven years in prison for forcing the teenager to engage in degrading acts and possessing indecent photographs of a child. Ewing had convinced the girl to let him watch her sleep online and manipulated her by alternating between kindness and cruelty. He also showed her a firearm and made her watch him perform sexual acts on himself multiple times. Despite his portrayal of himself as a victim, the judge emphasized that Ewing had not taken responsibility for his actions. Fortunately, he was apprehended at the airport before causing physical harm to the victim. Gwent Police highlighted the collaborative efforts with US authorities and UK Border Force that led to Ewing’s arrest and urged anyone who suspects they are victims of grooming or exploitation to seek help.
