US Education Secretary’s ‘Final Mission’ to End Bureaucracy!

Education Secretary’s Bold Mission to End Bureaucracy
(Reuters) – U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon declared on Monday her intention to spearhead a decisive effort aimed at eliminating excessive bureaucracy within the government department that President Donald Trump has in his sights for closure. McMahon emphasized her goal to transfer the oversight of education to state governments, viewing this initiative as a crucial step in streamlining operations and increasing efficiency within the Department of Education.

In a statement released on the Department of Education’s official website, McMahon articulated, “Our duty is to honor the will of the American people and the President they have elected, who has charged us with the formidable task of eradicating bureaucratic inefficiencies within the Department of Education – a significant and pivotal final mission that must be undertaken swiftly and judiciously.”

Having obtained confirmation from the Senate earlier that day, McMahon underscored that the forthcoming “overhaul” would bring about substantial changes in terms of staff, budgets, and agency operations at the department. Despite President Trump expressing a desire to close the Department of Education through an executive order, he acknowledged the necessity of garnering support from Congress and teachers’ unions to fulfill his campaign promise.

McMahon’s statement refrained from explicitly advocating for the closure of the department. Instead, she outlined her commitment to collaborating with Congress and other federal entities to chart the most effective course of action moving forward.
