Minnesota Wild player Ryan Hartman is set to attend an in-person hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety after receiving a match penalty for roughing Ottawa Senators’ Tim Stutzle. The exact date and time for the hearing are yet to be confirmed. An in-person hearing indicates that Hartman could face a suspension of six games or more.
Hartman, aged 30, is no stranger to the NHL’s discipline system, having been suspended four times over his 11-year career in the league. Notably, he was handed a three-game ban last April for misconduct toward officials.
The incident in question occurred during the Wild’s game against the Senators, where Hartman was seen pushing Stutzle, causing him to fall face-first onto the ice. As a result, Stutzle sustained a cut above his eyebrow, leaving him bloodied. Hartman was penalized with a match penalty for his actions, which were deemed as an attempt to injure.
Earlier in the game, Stutzle had received a two-minute minor penalty for slashing Hartman.
In the current season, Hartman has accumulated 17 points, comprising seven goals and ten assists, across 48 games. –Field Level Media
