Unveiling the Luxurious Kitchen of Deep Decadence!

Uncover a Lavish and Enigmatic Kitchen Makeover

“Partnerships between Hearst Magazines and Yahoo could potentially lead to the generation of income from certain items that are linked.” A kitchen that’s stuck in the past may be lacking in several aspects – a functional layout, modern appliances, and a touch of contemporary elegance. However, it holds a hidden treasure trove of potential just waiting to be unlocked. This was the challenge that faced designer Rajni Alex from Boca Raton as she embarked on a mission to enhance the design and functionality of the kitchen and breakfast area at the 2025 Kips Bay Decorator Show House.

According to Alex, the spaces were originally designed for utilitarian purposes, possibly intended for use mainly by household staff. As a result, they lacked the vibrancy and charm needed to serve as a bustling hub of activity. Her objective? To craft a space within this Palm Beach residence that would draw the homeowners in – a space for cooking, hosting, and quality family time – all while staying true to the home’s unique character. “Our aim was to infuse a sense of modern luxury into the space,” she explained.

A pivotal element in achieving this vision was reimagining the floor plan into a more organic layout that encouraged better movement within the space. Alex removed the upper cabinetry, incorporated sleek appliances from JennAir’s Burlesque collection, and introduced the captivating Calacatta Viola marble by Arca for the backsplash – a stunning focal point. To elevate the glamour while ensuring durability for family life, she opted for Dekton Kelya countertops from Cosentino.

Innovative features such as built-in wine and coffee bars were installed, while the Fabuwood cabinetry was cloaked in Benjamin Moore’s Townsend Brown, a shade leaning towards burgundy that Alex predicts will define interior trends in 2025. The designer selected sophisticated lighting fixtures from Vaughan and Hector Finch, along with an exquisite chandelier by Avram Rusu suspended above the island.

The breakfast room, awash with natural light streaming in through expansive windows and sliding glass doors leading to the loggia, was designed as a space where the homeowners could unwind and linger. Airy transparent draperies from The Shade Store gently diffuse the sunlight, complemented by a custom Sacco braided jute rug, a floral chandelier by Avram Rusu, and a striking Fromental wallcovering that adds depth and texture to the room. Adorning the table are exquisite accents from Pioneer Linens and Casa Branca, sure to enhance the charm of intimate brunches and luncheons in the newly revitalized kitchen.
