The Costume Designers Guild has revealed the nominations for the 27th Costume Designers Guild Awards. Titles such as “Wicked,” “Gladiator 2,” “Maria,” “Nosferatu,” and “Dune: Part Two” have received nominations. Costume designers from “The Book of Clarence,” “Gladiator II,” “Maria,” “Nosferatu,” and “Saturday Night” are competing for excellence in period film, while those from “Challengers,” “Conclave,” “Emilia Pérez,” “The Fall Guy,” and “The Substance” are in the running for excellence in contemporary costume design.
Paul Tazewell from “Wicked” has been nominated in the sci-fi/fantasy film category, marking his fifth guild nomination. Janty Yates, the costume designer for “Gladiator 2,” received her fifth guild nomination as well. Other nominees include Colleen Atwood for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” Massimo Cantini Parrini for “Maria,” Linda Muir for “Nosferatu,” and Jonathan Anderson for “Challengers.”
The CDGA ceremony is scheduled for February 6 at The Ebell of Los Angeles, where winners in nine categories will be announced. Terry Gordon, president of the Costume Designers Guild, IATSE Local 892, extended his congratulations to all the nominees and expressed anticipation for celebrating their achievements.
