When the NBA season kicks off in October, Prime Video’s inaugural coverage will feature a mix of familiar and new voices. Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle, and Stan Van Gundy will transition from TNT, while Cassidy Hubbarth will join from ESPN. Harlan and Van Gundy were part of TNT’s crew for the final NBA game on May 31, with Harlan having been with TNT since 1996 and Van Gundy returning as an analyst in 2021. Eagle, known for his Nets coverage since 1996, started calling national games for TNT in 2010.
Prime Video’s approach will not assign fixed announcing pairs but Eagle is likely to helm top games, including a 2027 conference finals series. Jared Stacy, Prime Video’s head of production, emphasized their flexibility in presenting two big games weekly, even after the NFL season. Hubbarth, who contributed as a sideline reporter and host on ESPN, will bring her experience to Prime Video’s lineup.
The addition of play-by-play announcers Michael Grady and Eric Collins, analysts Brent Barry and Dell Curry, and sideline reporters Allie Clifton and Kristina Pink further strengthens the team. Barry, a former TNT analyst, returns to broadcasting after roles with the Spurs and Suns, while Grady has been the Timberwolves’ TV voice since 2022. Pink and Clifton have vast experience in sideline reporting for various NBA teams.
The lineup also includes studio coverage with Taylor Rooks hosting alongside analysts Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, and Udonis Haslem. Game and studio analysts will feature the likes of Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, and Candace Parker. Prime Video’s NBA programming commences on Oct. 24 with a Friday night doubleheader, part of an 11-year agreement that encompasses regular-season games, Play-In Tournament matches, playoff games, and the NBA Cup. The coverage promises a dynamic mix of voices and experiences, aiming to build something special from the ground up.
