Law enforcement officials have disclosed that two of the individuals involved in the tragic incident were aged 46 and 63; however, their identities have not yet been divulged as authorities strive to inform their families first. Regrettably, the third person remains unidentified at this time.
Local residents have shared that the trio was known to frequent the railway tracks in the vicinity. Additionally, one individual who was present at the scene has expressed that they were unaware of colliding with the group. Reportedly, Alabama Port Authority informed FOX 10 NewsWALA-TV that a second engineer, with a different perspective of the tracks, discovered the bodies approximately six hours later and promptly notified the Mobile Police Department.
Authorities are considering the possibility that the individuals might have been in a state of slumber prior to the incident. It has been confirmed by law enforcement that the train alerted its presence by sounding its horn before traversing through the area. Consequently, no criminal charges are anticipated to be filed in connection with the event.
