Unity Emphasized Following Identification of Plane Crash Victims

The six passengers who were onboard a medical jet before it tragically crashed in Northeast Philadelphia have been identified by the Mexico-based company operating the small plane. All individuals on the Learjet 55 aircraft, including a pediatric patient who had recently completed treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital, lost their lives in the crash. According to a spokesperson for Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the following Mexican citizens were on the plane when it went down near Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue on the evening of Jan. 31:

– Capt. Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales
– Copilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez
– Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo
– Rodrigo Lopez Padilla
– Valentina Guzman Murillo
– Lizeth Murillo Ozuna

Valentina Guzman Murillo, the young patient receiving treatment in Philadelphia, was accompanied by her mother Lizeth. The hospital had bid a farewell to her earlier in the day before the tragic incident occurred. Besides the six victims on the plane, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker confirmed that a seventh person on the ground also lost their life during the crash, with 22 individuals sustaining injuries, five of whom remain hospitalized, three in critical condition.

Despite the tragedy, Mayor Parker encouraged the community to come together and support one another during this difficult time. She emphasized the importance of unity and caring for one another. The investigation into the crash is being led by federal agencies, including the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration, and local authorities. Road closures around the crash site have been in effect, with updates provided through ReadyPhiladelphia for residents in the area. In response to the tragic accident, the city plans to hold a town hall meeting to address the impact on the community.

And then began a sharp descent before it crashed, as stated by officials. The entire duration of the flight was less than one minute. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced that investigators are still actively searching for the cockpit voice recorder of the plane. If anyone discovers any debris related to the incident, they are urged not to touch it and instead, email witness@ntsb.gov.

During the press conference that took place on Sunday, officials mentioned that it might take several days and even weeks before many of the lingering questions about the crash can be fully addressed. This remains a developing story, and all updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
