Unexplained earthquake shakes the earth near city

A seismic event rumbled through parts of Western Texas on Friday afternoon, registering a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 as reported by the United States Geological Survey. The epicenter of the earthquake was pinpointed approximately 15 miles to the southwest of Ackerly, situated around 60 miles northwest of Midland and 320 miles west of Dallas. This seismic activity occurred at a depth of roughly 1 mile beneath the surface, with no immediate reports of injuries or damages in the affected region.
In recent weeks, a series of tremors has been observed along the Texas-New Mexico border. The tremors have been felt in various areas of New Mexico, including Carlsbad, Alamogordo, and Roswell, as well as parts of Western Texas such as El Paso, as confirmed by the USGS.
