Unexpected royal role: 13-year-old Princess Estelle of Sweden takes charge!

Princess Estelle and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden have both taken on important roles within the royal family.

Thirteen-year-old Princess Estelle has been named godparent to her baby cousin, Princess Ines. The five-month-old princess’s baptism will take place tomorrow. This decision strengthens the emotional bond between Princess Estelle and her uncle, Prince Carl Philip, her godfather. As the eldest child of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle is expected to become queen one day, following her mother in the line of succession. Currently second in line to the Swedish throne, she will be able to guide Princess Ines in royal matters as she grows up. The Swedish royal family attended the baptism at Drottningholm Palace Chapel, with Princess Estelle among the five godparents chosen for Princess Ines. The godparents are friends and family members of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. This special occasion marks a significant moment for the royal family as they welcome Princess Ines and embrace the connections between generations.

Princess Ines will be christened on 13 June, the tenth anniversary of her parents’ wedding. In anticipation of this significant event, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have shared a series of previously unseen photographs from their wedding at the Royal Palace on 13 June 2015. The couple expressed their gratitude for the love and warmth they received on their wedding day and throughout the past decade. They now have four beautiful children and are excited to celebrate the christening of their youngest daughter. The ceremony will take place at the Drottningholm Palace Chapel and will be officiated by Chief Chaplain Bishop Johan Dalman and Ordinary Chaplain Michael Bjerkhagen. A reception and private lunch will follow to celebrate the occasion.
