Reflecting on the past, Bell recalls, “My local mall had just opened that very year. It’s rather peculiar, as that mall now stands abandoned, while this little snow globe contains only a trace amount of ice that has endured over a period of 37-plus years, slowly evaporating.”
Initially, Bell didn’t pay much attention after posting the video. However, he was taken aback when one of his viewers brought to his attention that the video had been reposted on YouTube and garnered an astonishing 20 to 30 million views. Subsequently, the video went viral on TikTok and also made waves on his Instagram platform.
Despite the entertainment value of going viral, Bell candidly acknowledges encountering some skeptics in the comment section who accused him of fabricating the story. “I can empathize with those who doubt the authenticity, as I, too, come across countless unbelievable stories online. Nonetheless, I can assure everyone that this is indeed a genuine tale,” he asserts.
Amused, he humorously adds, “Let’s entertain the hypothetical scenario where this was all a staged Instagram hoax. If I had approached my mother and said, ‘Hey Mom, let’s pretend that I collected this snow on a random day 37 years ago. Can you play along?’, there is no way she would have agreed. Integrity is paramount to her.”
